The Gulfshore Ballet Summer Intensive provides high quality pre-professional ballet training featuring the area’s most qualified instructors and curriculum of class offerings. The Summer Intensive is a premier training experience for ballet students 7-22 years of age. Week one introduces a pre-ballet program for students 4-6 years of age.
The Summer Intensive features a core curriculum of classes in ballet technique, pointe, men’s class, pas de deux and variations, as well as classical repertoire. Additional classes may include character, strengthening, gyrokinesis and floor barre, to help students develop versatility in their dancing. All students learn choreography and perform in our in-studio Summer Intensive Showcase.
Admission to the program is by audition only.
The Gulfshore Ballet Summer Intensive audition class will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM. All current Gulfshore Ballet students are automatically accepted into the program and do not need to audition.
Video Auditions: Students may audition by sending a completed application form, head shot, photo in first arabesque, audition DVD or email a video link to email@example.com, and a $30 audition fee to Gulfshore Ballet, 2155 Andrea Lane C5-C6, Fort Myers, FL 33912. The deadline for video auditions is February 28, 2017.
Audition videos created for other summer programs or a classical variation will be accepted and may be used in lieu of full audition video. A guideline for exercises if making a new video would include barre: tendu, fondue, battement, at center: adagio, petite allegro, pirouettes and grand allegro. Female students who currently dance on pointe should include echappes on pointe. Students who are not on pointe should audition in flat ballet slippers. Your video should not exceed 5-7 minutes in length.
Required for All Auditions:
- $30 audition fee (not required for year-round Gulfshore Ballet students)
- student audition/registration form

SPECIAL GUEST FACULTY
Additional Special Guest Faculty is subject to change. While all students will attend special classes and work with a variety of faculty members, not every student will work with every faculty member and special guest faculty, and special guest faculty will work with appropriate class levels suited to their areas of experience and expertise, in order to provide the best training experience for students.

Placement day for non-GSB students will be during classes on each Monday of the Summer Intensive. Placement results will be posted prior to the start of daily classes on each Tuesday of the Summer Intensive. Placement is determined with each student’s best interest in mind, in order to provide each student with optimal opportunity for growth and development. Determinations are based on the sole judgment of Gulfshore Ballet faculty and artistic staff. A variety of factors are considered during placement, including technical and artistic ability, development and strength. Each faculty member involved with the placement process is an expert in ballet technique.
Classes for all levels will take place at the Gulfshore Ballet studios, 5636 Youngquist Road Units 1 & 2, Fort Myers, FL 33912. Please follow the class schedule class times.
